At Master Renovations, we specialise in high-end home renovations managing the whole process from start to finish.
We understand that undertaking a renovation—whether it’s a full home transformation, a luxury extension, or a high-end bathroom upgrade—is a significant investment. Our process is designed to ensure clarity, transparency, and excellence at every stage, so you feel confident and informed throughout.
Step 1: Initial Consultation & Site Inspection
Once you get in touch, we’ll arrange a convenient time to meet with you on-site with our project manager Nick. This initial inspection is a chance for us to gain a detailed understanding of your vision, lifestyle needs, and design preferences. You’re welcome to send through photos, floor plans, or inspiration ahead of time, so we arrive familiar with the space and ready to dive into meaningful discussion.
Step 2: Design & Planning
For larger-scale projects—such as full-home renovations, extensions, or second-storey additions—we’ll engage our in-house architects and structural engineers to develop plans tailored to your property and brief. For smaller renovations, such as bathrooms or kitchens, we offer expert design guidance around layout, finishes, and fittings to help bring your ideas to life.
Step 3: Selections & Quotation
While we prepare your detailed quotation, we’ll connect you with our trusted partners at Beaumont Tiles and other select suppliers, like Reece and Beacon Lighting, to assist with the selection of tiles, fixtures, vanities, sinks, and all other required finishes.
When it comes to appliances, most clients prefer to select their own, and we’re here to guide that process. We work with a range of premium brands—such as Miele, Bosch, AEG, and Fisher & Paykel—and can provide recommendations to ensure your choices complement the overall design, colour palette, and spatial requirements of your kitchen or laundry.
Once the quote is ready, you’ll receive:
A comprehensive cost breakdown
A clear Inclusions Schedule outlining exactly what’s covered
An estimated project timeline, including any necessary relocation periods
Our quoting process is transparent and thorough, helping you make fully informed decisions with confidence.
Step 4: Construction Commencement
After your approval, we’ll lock in a start date and finalise our construction schedule. Every project is overseen by an experienced project manager to ensure deadlines are met and workmanship remains at the highest standard.
If you’re living in the home during the renovation, we implement dust and safety control measures to minimise disruption and maintain a clean, safe environment throughout.
Step 5: Ongoing Communication & Site Walkthroughs
Throughout the build, we provide regular updates and invite you onsite for walkthroughs at key milestones. These sessions allow us to keep you informed, address any questions, and ensure you’re always in the loop.
Step 6: Completion & Final Handover
At project completion, we conduct a thorough final inspection with you to ensure every detail meets your expectations. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we take pride in leaving every site with a polished finish—and a happy client.
Working with our Architect and Designer
Tailored Design for Visionary Homes
When your renovation calls for structural changes, an upper level, or significant reconfiguration of space, we bring in our trusted architect Joe to collaborate closely with you and our team. This ensures your vision is captured with precision, creativity, and expert planning.
A Glen Iris Example
In one of our recent high-end renovations in Glen Iris, the client approached us with a clear ambition: to expand and elevate their home to better suit their family and lifestyle. Their goals included a spacious garage for a car collection, a cinema room for the children, an expansive kitchen, additional bedrooms and bathrooms via a second-storey addition, and a generous outdoor pool area.
Collaborative Design from Concept to Plan
With this brief in hand, we engaged our architect to begin the concept and design phase. Working directly with the client, the architect translated these ideas into detailed preliminary sketches—along with high-quality 3D visual renders to help the client fully visualise the layout and design.
This visual clarity is especially helpful for clients who prefer seeing their future space rather than interpreting standard architectural floor plans.
From Planning to Approval
Once the client approved the design, we submitted the plans to council to obtain the necessary planning permit. Upon approval, we secured the building permit and began preparing a full project proposal. With all elements in place, the client paid a deposit and we commenced works on site.
Optional Interior Design Support
For clients who want extra guidance in choosing cohesive finishes, we also offer the services of a specialist interior designer. Working in collaboration with the architect, they develop a detailed Finishes Schedule that includes:
Tile and tapware selections
Lighting and colour palettes
Fixtures and fittings
Overall tone and styling recommendations
This additional layer of expertise ensures every detail aligns beautifully—from structural layout through to the finishing touches.
