Contemporary Bathroom and Laundry Renovation in Carlton

BEFORE Renovating

Our inner city clients are a middle-aged couple living in a late 90’s home in the lively and stylish suburb of Carlton.

 

The Carlton based couple reached out to us at Master Renovations Melbourne wanting to completely redesign their aged bathroom and laundry combination room. This was the only bathroom in their home and was functionally worn out with water leaking through the tiles and they also felt the original design from 25 years ago was outdated and impractical. A shower over the bathtub design meant the clients were always having to step in and out the bathtub to shower.

The Combined Bathroom Laundry Renovation Process

We attended the inner city property for a site inspection and used the opportunity to get to know our clients in person and discuss in detail the design layout and specific elements of the design aesthetic.

 

Sometimes our clients already have definite visions and colour preferences in mind when they reach out and others like our Carlton couple, are uncertain of what themes or individual elements to select. They knew they wanted a bold statement feature and really like the use of the colour black as a design feature.

 

We offered them design themes to explore from the Beaumont Tiles range and they selected the Shayna Blaze Contemporary Design package.

This contemporary bathroom design featured a vibrant mustard vanity at the centre of it’s design, which met our clients brief of wanting a main feature to stand out as a focal point of the bathroom renovation. Their love of black was combined into the design with matt black fixtures and fittings to create a dynamic contrast with the matt white subway tiles and the striking yellow centre piece.

The Laundry Renovation
The clients wanted to keep the layout of having a combined bathroom and laundry space to avoid any major structural work as they were happy with the current use of the space.  They chose to create a more efficient storage system and extra bench space so the laundry would be clean and easy to organise. They opted for matt black laundry cupboards and sink, with matching stud grey tiling from the shower to incorporate the design elements from the bathroom.
 
The laundry renovation blends seamlessly into the space with the matt finish white subway tiles continuing into the laundry room and accents of black grout marking the entrance.

AFTER Renovation

The clients went away on holidays for 8 weeks while the works were being carried out and wanted the renovation to be completed before their return.  The project took a total of six weeks to complete. 

We organised to meet at their home when the Carlton couple returned from their holiday, to run through the project with them. They were stunned by the quality of the finish, and elated with the results of their bold, minimalist bathroom and laundry renovation. They are enjoying taking showers in their stylish walk-in shower, no longer having to climb in and out of a bathtub! As well as enjoying the updated bathroom, the clean and compact design of the laundry has provided the extra storage space that makes the room easy to keep tidy.
